In Action
It takes more than some fliers and stickers to fight and win against the large, multi-national companies that monopolize the private school bus industry. The most visible action we take to win an organizing election and then to get a contract is to talk to our co-workers about the advantage of joining the union. Education is our greatest weapon.
But there are times when company policies or the actions of the management at a single yard make organizing very difficult. These are times when the workers must stand up as a group and make sure its voice is heard.

Plugging in Politics

Sometimes the obstacles that prevent a group from joining the union stem from local or state legislation, or from decisions made by local authorities, such as the school board. Laws and rules are not written in stone, and with good organizing, workers can engage with policy makers, advocates, and the community to change things for the better.
