First Student school bus drivers in Concord, Calif., voted overwhelming, 32-3, today in favor of representation by Teamsters Local 315 in Martinez. There are 42 workers in the bargaining unit.
First Student school bus monitors in Memphis, Tennessee, have voted 55-1 to join Teamsters Local 984, which already represents about 277 drivers and mechanics at this location. The monitors joined the union seeking to raise standards to the level of their coworkers.
School bus drivers and attendants in Verona, Wisconsin, are the first group of First Student workers in the state to join the Teamsters Union, after voting in favor of representation by Teamsters Local 695 in Madison. There are 60 workers in the bargaining unit.
First Student drivers, mechanics and dispatchers in Berlin, Vermont, have voted overwhelmingly, 41-6, in favor of representation by Teamsters Local 597 in South Barre. The workers came together seeking respect, fairness and improved safety. There are 63 workers in the bargaining unit.

School bus drivers with First Student in Carmichaels, Pa., have voted overwhelmingly, 22-4, to join Teamsters Local 491 in Uniontown, Pa. The 28 workers are looking forward to negotiating a Teamster contract that will provide for fairness and a better workplace.
