Global Solidarity

The Transport and General Workers Union section of Unite the Union continue to work closely with our sisters and brothers in the Teamsters in order to build an international workers movement, and to drive up standards in the school bus and transit industry.

As T&G members and FirstGroup workers, we stand in solidarity with the Teamsters and the Drive Up Standards campaign. We are concerned about US standards being imported to the UK, and are upset that our US brothers and sisters do not enjoy the same standards that we enjoy here.

The Transport and General Workers Union will continue to reach out to United Kingdom politicians and other allies in partnership with the Teamsters to hold FirstGroup accountable.

The Teamsters and Transport & General Workers Union section of Unite the Union ‘Drive Up Standards’ campaign will continue until there is a mutual agreement between the Unions and FirstGroup.
