First Student school bus drivers in Concord, Calif., voted overwhelming, 32-3, today in favor of representation by Teamsters Local 315 in Martinez. There are 42 workers in the bargaining unit.

First Student school bus drivers in Duxbury, Massachusetts, are the latest group of school bus workers to join the Teamsters Union in New England.

First Student school bus drivers and monitors in Middlebury, Connecticut, have voted 60-16 in favor of joining Teamsters Local 677 in Waterbury.

Elizabeth Rhodes, a Durham driver in Kansas City, dedicated the following poem to her co-workers who will be voting in their Teamster election on February 24. She wrote this poem after being forced to attend a mandatory anti-union meeting by her Durham managers. This poem is for all the school bus workers who are standing united and demanding that they be treated with the dignity and respect that all human beings - that all school bus workers - deserve.

My name is Brenda Beaulieu and I have worked driving a school bus for eleven years. I have had enough work experiences to know how important it is to be a member of a union, and I’m really glad that I’m a Teamster member.
