School bus workers are busy this week voting in their Teamster elections! Mechanics with First Student in Salem, New Hampshire voted unanimously, 3-0, today to join Local 633. This comes after a vote yesterday by 29 First Student drivers in Dover, New Hampshire, to join Local 633.
“They’ve lost benefits and had a lot of things taken away. They needed union representation,” said Robin Loder, a Local 633 organizer, about the mechanics.
About 70 drivers at this location have already been Teamsters for 13 years.
