I would like congratulate all the drivers and monitors in Kansas City, MO on their tremendous win on Feb 24 with a 203-63 vote count. With this overwhelming support at the polls you have sent a prowerful message to Durham that "Enough is Enough". That freezing you wages and stealing your bonuses and SIP program was the last straw.
You all stood strong and stood together even throught Durham's abti-union campaign. You went to their manditory meeting and showed them that you wouldn't just sit their and be fed the garabe they call important company "facts". You questioned and proved wrong the information that Durham put up on the company's bullentin board and wanted you to believe. You brought into the light of day the lies that the company bought from their union avoidance clearing house LRI and made the company avoid answering any questions that would prove that their "facts" are tilted to help the company.
All in all you stood tall and stood strong and gained the respect of all of us that helped you get what you wanted - your union. Now that you have this first step in changing your workplace accomplished it's time to reach out to everyone. It's time to make sure that those that didn't support your campaign now understand that they need to now join with you and work towards your contract together. That their thoughts and ideas won't be dismissed or ignored just because you differred on you thoughts and ideas about the importance of having your union. Make sure that they understand that you have worked together for years and now you all need to work together towards your contact.
Again I want to congratulate all of you on your victory and let each and everyone of you that we will miss seeing you daily but that our thoughts and prayers are always with you.
